Skewered started as a what-if idea by very different people wanting to make a small difference. Our only common point: we loved food, we worshipped great food. So when we were throwing around the idea of starting something on our own, Food Industry was a no-brainer. Skewered is a family run hole-in-the-wall restaurant trying to see if a couple of nobodies, could wiggle their toes and make their mark in Chennai’s food scene. We don’t have a movie-worthy origin story, but rather tedious and fairly realistic months of hard work, arguments, reworking, budgets, banks, loans, scouting, menu planning and so on. We have absolutely no experience in the industry except for our love for good food and wanting to create a place that served our love. Started with bare minimum expectations, Chennai’s food scene managed to surprise us in it’s very warm hearted welcome, and for that, we are forever grateful. We had our share of missteps and fumbles along the way, and we truly appreciate the honest feedback and support that helped us get on the right track. We are always open to hearing your inputs and please feel free to let us know how we can serve you better.
