Born in the coastal city of temple riddled Mangalore, Shyama was exposed to one of the most exquisite culinary forms in India at a very tender age. After a couple of years, she moved to Mumbai and lived there for next 26 years of her life learning and experimenting with different sorts of cuisines. After her marriage to a Bengali man residing in Pondicherry, she moved to the French Colonial city which has since become her own. She now lives here with her wonderful husband and her two lovely daughters. A Mangalorean by birth with a vast exposure to Pan-Indian cuisine and a great love to cook and feed people, since the very beginning, she had it in her to become a great chef. With her flair for plating up lip smacking courses, she runs a successful catering service which has won the hearts of the people of Pondicherry. Driven by the desire to share her passion for food, she has started conducting cooking demonstrations for inbound tourists and has received a lot of appreciation from the clients. With her years of experience, she can dish up mouthwatering delicacies from all parts of India, and with her charming persona she can single handedly manage groups of 10 people or more. The cooking demonstration includes going to the local bazaar to buy fresh, locally grown produce while giving a quick tour of the bustling markets. The experience continues at home with the preparation of the dishes and sitting down at the table to have a meal with the family.
